  • Adding Password Protection to Your Device

For the security of your personal health information, we recommend you enable a passcode or Touch ID to unlock your phone. Adding a passcode or Touch ID protection helps ensure that you are the only person who can access your Wellframe app (and all other apps on your phone).

The passcode is a 4 to 6 digit number that you will type in after the screen goes dark to unlock your smartphone or tablet. The Touch ID is a fingerprint scanner available on many new devices that works just like a passcode. You can add a passcode or Touch ID in the settings app on your device.

    iPhone

    To add a Passcode:

    1. Go to your iPhone ā€œSettings.ā€
    2. Tap ā€œTouch ID & Passcode.ā€
    3. Tap ā€œTurn Passcode On.ā€
    4. Enter a 6-digit passcode – this is the passcode you will enter every time you unlock your phone. If you would prefer a 4-digit passcode or alphanumeric passcode, tap ā€œPasscode Optionsā€ to enable custom passcode settings.
    5. Enter your passcode again to activate the passcode on your phone.

For more information on Passcodes: visit Apple support.

    To add a Touch ID:

Please keep in mind that before you can set up Touch ID, you need to create a passcode for your device as instructed above.* Then follow these steps:

    1. Go to your iPhone ā€œSettings.ā€
    2. Tap ā€œTouch ID & Passcode.ā€
    3. Tap ā€œAdd a Fingerprintā€ (*Note: you can enter more than one fingerprint to unlock your phone).
    4. Follow the instructions on the screen to enable Touch ID to unlock your phone.

For more information on Touch ID: visit Apple support.

To add Face ID (iPhone X and higher only):

Face ID unlocks your phone using facial recognition scanner rather than the fingerprint scanning of a Touch ID.

    1. Go to your iPhone ā€œSettings.ā€
    2. Tap ā€œFace ID & Passcode.ā€
    3. Tap ā€œSetup Face ID.ā€
    4. Follow the instructions on the screen to enable Face ID to unlock your phone.

For more information on Face ID: visit Apple support.

    Android

    1. Go to your Android ā€œSettingsā€ – it will appear as a gear icon in the apps section of your phone.
    2. In settings, scroll to the section ā€œLock Screen & Security.ā€
    3. Select ā€œScreen lock typeā€ you will have a few options to choose from:
      • None: no lock screen.
      • Swipe: swipe up to unlock your phone.
      • Pattern: draw a pattern along a 9-dot grid to unlock your phone.
      • Pin: enter a numeric pin of 4 or more digits to unlock your phone.
